Wakefield Research conducted the survey on behalf of UnitedHealthcare, the insurance arm of UnitedHealth Group. About 1,000 adults age 62-plus were questioned between March 27 and April 3 via an online survey.

Five things to know:

1. After physical health, older adults ranked cognitive health (16 percent), social health (13 percent) and financial health (6 percent) as most important to them.

2. Nearly all older adults were worried about being sick or hospitalized.

3. Fifty-six percent said they’re actively working to improve their mental health.

4. Among older adults who have retirement goals, 38 percent hope to achieve fitness goals.

5. While 67 percent of retirees have not rejoined the workforce, of those who have reentered, 50 percent needed to bring in some type of income.
