F. Mark Gumz (Olympus Corporation of the Americas). Mr. Gumz is the president and CEO of Olympus Corporation of the Americas, a precision technology provider of opto-digital solutions. The company’s healthcare offerings include flexible endoscopes, EndoTherapy accessories and minimally invasive surgical products. Mr. Gumz has previously served as vice president of Olympus Camera Corporation and COO of Olympus America. He is the first American CEO of the company. He also serves as president of Olympus Canada, Olympus Imaging America, Olympus Medical Equipment Services America and Olympus Surgical and Industrial America. During his career, Mr. Gumz has participated in several panel discussions on core business topics, including medical device technology, corporate responsibility and sustainability.
Jason Krieser (Allen Medical System). Mr. Krieser is the vice president of Hill-Rom and general manager for Allen Medical, a company that focuses on developing technology in surgical positioning accessories. He is credited with expanding the company’s focus into hip and spine markets, which have become strong segments for the company. Allen Medical can be considered the number two player in spine and number one in patient positioning accessories for hip arthroscopy. His previous experience includes serving as a marketing manager at Smith & Nephew Endoscopy and product director at Johnson & Johnson. In addition to his work within the healthcare industry, Mr. Krieser has served as a chemical officer in the U.S. Army.
Dennis S. Meteny (Cygnus Manufacturing Company). Mr. Meteny is the president and CEO of Cygnus Manufacturing Company, a contract manufacturer of products and components for non-invasive medical devices, transportation, scientific instrumentation, energy, health and safety and aerospace applications. During his career, Mr. Meteny has served as the executive in residence with The Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse and is a former president and board member of TissueInformatics. He has also spent time as a consultant to technology companies and was the president and CEO of Respironics, a cardio-pulmonary medical device company. He is also chairman of the board of Medsage Technologies, a private application services provider for homecare patient management.
Jack Wagner (Micro-Scientific Industries). Mr. Wagner is the president and CEO of Micro-Scientific Industries, a developer, producer and distributor of specialty chemicals used for infection control to healthcare industry professionals. The Rolling Meadows, Ill.-based company produces several products, including Opti-Cide-3. The company also maintains a focus on ongoing research and development programs and includes expert consultants in microbiology, infection control, chemistry, medical and other scientific disciplines. In addition to his work at Micro-Scientific, Mr. Wagner has served as a member of the Village Council in his community for several years and remains active in community service.
Curtis Warfield (National Patient Account Services). Mr. Warfield is the CEO of National Patient Account Services, a large healthcare bsuiness processing outsourcing firm. His responsibilities with the company include directing start-up activities and on-going operational development enhancements of supporting financial systems, processes and infrastructure. Mr. Warfield’s background includes operations management, financial modeling, budginting, acccounting, competitive analysis and information technology. His previous experience includes positions with Humana and PacifiCare. He has also served as chairman of the Health Enterprises Network board.
Mark Wietecha (Kurt Salmon). Mr. Wietecha is the chairman of Kurt Salmon and senior partner in the firm’s healthcare practice. Kurt Salmon is a global management consultancy that includes more than 1,600 consultants in 15 countries. During his career, he has led the development of the practice in the academic medical center and children’s hospital sectors. He also frequently shares his expertise through speaking and writing engagements and has been named among the “Most Influential Consultants” by Consulting magazine. Mr. Wietecha’s additional responsibilities include executive director of the board of MCG and he chairs the ethics committee of the board of the Association of Management Consultants.
