1. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona’s new CEO is Pam Kehaly: 4 notes
Phoenix-based Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona hired Pam Kehaly to serve as president and CEO, effective in November. 

2. Anthem executive named president of Optima Health
Dennis Matheis, a former Indianapolis-based Anthem executive, will succeed Michael Dudley as president and CEO of Optima Health in Virginia Beach, Va., and senior corporate vice president of Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare. 

3. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Kentucky appoints president
Lexington-based Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Kentucky named Kennan Wethington president effective Oct. 16.

4. CareFirst CEO to retire next year: 3 things to know
Chet Burrell, president and CEO of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield in Baltimore, will retire in mid-2018.
