1. The median annual earnings wage and salary of medical and health services managers in May 2006 was $73,340.

2. The median annual earnings for those employed at hospitals was $78,660.

3. The median annual earnings for those employed at outpatient care centers was $67,920.

4. The median annual earnings for those employed at physicians’ offices was $67,540.

5. The median annual earnings for those employed at nursing care facilities was $67,540.

6. Employment is expected to grow 16 percent from 2006-2016.

7. In 2006, 262,000 medical and health services managers were employed in the United States.

8. About 37 percent of these managers worked in hospitals, and another 22 percent worked in offices of physicians or in nursing and residential care facilities.

9. By 2016, the number of medical and health services managers is expected to grow to 305,000.
