Top 5 Reported Adverse Events in 2016

While providing a safe and high quality care environment is a foundational goal of many healthcare institutions, preventable adverse events still occur at an alarming rate, with medical error cited as the third leading cause of death in the U.S.1 Medical errors are estimated to cost the U.S. economy upwards of $20.8 billion annually.2 The five most common safety events reported by Quantros’ hospital and health system customers in 2016, are Medication, Falls & Slips, Admission/Transfer/Discharge, Laboratory and Skin Integrity events.
