Three young healthcare technology companies merged July 15 to form Arkos Health, a telehealth provider that will focus on vulnerable populations.
Curavi Health, which spun out from UPMC in 2016, provides telehealth services in post-acute and long-term care settings. CarePointe and U.S. Health Systems, founded in 2015 and 2018 respectively, will join forces with Curavi by providing digital care coordination.
The executive leadership teams at the three companies will merge under Arkos Health, and UPMC will maintain a financial stake in Arkos Health while acting as its customer and service provider.
"With Arkos Health, providers and payers can effectively deliver quality care to frail seniors through a customized mobile and virtual platform using performance-based business models," Amish Purohit, MD, CEO of U.S. Health Systems, said in a July 15 news release. "Curavi, CarePointe and USHS have all demonstrated an ability to improve clinical outcomes while reducing costs, and together we will continue to elevate our clients’ experiences by providing differentiated care."
