TriHealth receives $3.8M to launch telehealth program

Andrea Park -

Cincinnati-based TriHealth was named Nov. 25 the recipient of a $3.84 million grant from bi3, the grantmaking initiative of TriHealth co-sponsor Bethesda Inc., to fund the development and implementation of a new virtual care program.

TriHealthNow, which will be rolled out in phases beginning in the first quarter of 2020, will be supported by Teladoc Health and staffed by TriHealth physicians. The service will be fully integrated into TriHealth's network of providers across six hospitals and 130 care delivery sites, providing patients with immediate care regardless of location.

"Healthcare consumers are increasingly seeking access to medical providers and healthcare on their own terms and when, where and how they want it, and for some, that means by way of their smartphone or other smart devices," Mark Clement, president and CEO of TriHealth, said in the announcement. "TriHealthNow will provide convenient access to TriHealth's trusted clinicians and will be fully integrated into our comprehensive network of primary care practices, Priority Care centers and retail clinics at Walgreens to provide the right care at the right time in the right location at the right price."
