The American Medical Group Association, a trade association that works to advance high-performance health, is asking House leaders to pass a telehealth bill.
The Creating High-Quality Results and Outcomes Necessary to Improve Chronic Care Act of 2017 (S.870) is a bipartisan effort to expand telehealth services for Medicare beneficiaries suffering from chronic conditions.
The Senate gave the legislation the green light in September, but policy researchers estimated it only had a 60 percent chance of passing Congress this session.
In its letter to House leaders, AMGA applauded other House efforts to enhance telehealth services, but highlighted the importance of the CHRONIC Care Act in providing convenient care to those who need it most.
"Our members are committed to improving care for those with chronic conditions. It is in that spirit that we urge you to pass the CHRONIC Care Act of 2017 to improve care for the chronically ill," AMGA writes.
