A new piece of legislation in Texas establishes a telehealth center for forensic medical examinations for sexual assault.
The statewide telehealth center for sexual assault exams aims to expand access and connect underserved populations with trained sexual assault nurse examiners. Examiners and patients at the center would be able to use the expertise of sexual assault nurse examiners via telehealth technology.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed the bill into law June 4, according to news website mHealth Intelligence.
