Telehealth startup that integrates with EHRs raises $15M

Jackie Drees -

Telehealth technology company CirrusMD, which offers a chat-based solution for health plans, raised $15 million in its latest financing round.

CirrusMD will use the financing to support product development. With its mobile application, CirrusMD provides members the opportunity to chat with a physician within seconds of logging onto the app. Conversations between physicians and members can last as long as both parties prefer, and there are no paywall barriers.

Additionally, the telehealth tech company formed an agreement with Iron Bow Technologies, which is in contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide a mobile platform for veterans to use to communicate with their care providers.

"Real-time communication between a [physician] and patient not only improves outcomes but is expected in healthcare today," CirrusMD Co-founder and CEO Andrew Altorfer said in a news release. "This latest round of funding enables us to bring seamless, chat-based virtual care to more people."
