Telehealth company Nurx appoints new medical director: 3 notes

Jackie Drees -

Nurx, a telemedicine startup that sells prescription drugs such as birth control and HIV-prevention medication online, named Kim Boyd, MD, its new medical director.

Three notes:

1. As Nurx's medical director, Dr. Boyd will focus on growing the telemedicine startup's provider team as well as ensure the company's patient care and clinical protocols are up to standard.

2. Previously, Dr. Boyd served as medical director at Galileo, a healthcare technology startup. She also served as medical director and a senior clinical leader at technology-based primary care medical group One Medical.

3. Dr. Boyd is an integrative medicine specialist, and she also has experience as a clinical instructor at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.

Dr. Boyd is one of several new executives joining Nurx, which faced reports last month that former employees claimed the telemedicine startup has ignored and violated state and federal laws surrounding the sale and shipment of prescription medications since it was founded in 2015.
