Jessica Kim Cohen -

Roughly 19 percent of consumers have used a virtual provider, although interest in the capability is growing, according to an Advisory Board survey.

For the survey, titled the "Virtual Visits Consumer Choice Survey," Advisory Board surveyed almost 5,000 individuals about their attitudes toward mobile health and telehealth technologies.

Here four findings from the survey.

1. Seventy-seven percent of respondents indicated interest in seeing a virtual provider.

2. The majority of respondents responded positively to virtual visits for 21 different specialty scenarios, including prescription refill, postoperative care and chronic condition management.

3. The No. 1 concern consumers reported was care quality, which 21 percent of respondents voiced as a concern.

4. Nine percent of respondents said they had no concerns about virtual visits.
