NorthBay Healthcare launches text, email program to support new parents

Fairfield, Calif.-based NorthBay Healthcare joined forces with UbiCare, a Boston-based technology company focused on patient engagement, to create the "Baby Steps by NorthBay" program.

The program — built on UbiCare's SmarteXp platform — targets new and expecting parents. Parents who sign up for the program will receive health education and support messages during pregnancy and until their child reaches 3 years of age. The messages are customized with child development milestones based on age.

Two of the "Baby Steps by NorthBay" program's priorities are breastfeeding and vaccination education.

"We strive to ensure that local residents remain near home for most of the healthcare services they'll need in their lifetimes," said Sarah Jewel, director of facilities development at NorthBay Healthcare. "Staying connected to our patients after they deliver here and in their everyday lives extends our quality care outside the hospital and through the entire care episode."
