Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and Clemson (S.C.) University are launching a statewide collaborative program that will use telehealth technology to improve healthcare access across South Carolina, according to a Nov. 21 news release.

Through the Healthy Me – Healthy SC program, participants will have access to MUSC's telehealth network at Clemson University Cooperative Extension locations. The Cooperative Extension comprises offices in all 46 counties of South Carolina, and the program offers resources for public outreach programs, nutrition and health and agriculture, among others.

By offering telehealth services, South Carolina residents who visit Cooperative Extension sites can receive MUSC healthcare from distant parts of the state. MUSC Health hospitals in four state counties will also participate in the program.

Healthy Me – Health SC will also deploy a mobile health van at various rural sites across the state to increase the reach and impact of the program.
