MetroHealth to add telehealth services to new Ohio retail health clinics

Cleveland-based MetroHealth System will expand its number of retail health clinics at Discount Drug Mart stores across Ohio, according to a Jan. 6 news release.

The new locations will be announced in the first quarter of 2020, and some will eventually incorporate telemedicine services, according to the news release.

The agreement builds on the health system and retail store's previous partnership, which includes four MetroHealth-operated clinics at four Discount Drug Mart stores in the state.

The new clinics will be staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants, who will work in collaboration with primary care physicians, to provide various immediate care services such as sports physicals, strep throat testing and treatment and allergies, among others.
