Philadelphia-based Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) is partnering with Teladoc Health to offer a fellowship program for telehealth.

The fellowship launched in the fall semester at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. It formalizes a training and education program aimed at enhancing the field of telehealth.

Together, Jefferson and Teladoc will support the fellows as they undergo the two components of the program: one onsite led by Jefferson and the other designed by Teladoc Health. The latter will include insight into how virtual care is created, designed, and quality-assured as well as telehealth policy leadership and advocacy.

"We recognized the benefits of telehealth and worked to establish a multidisciplinary program that addresses several modalities for patients to receive care when and where they want it," said Judd Hollander, MD, senior vice president of healthcare delivery innovation at Thomas Jefferson University. "The next step is to educate the leaders of tomorrow to master telehealth so that we can keep providing the care that patients need, when and how they need it."
