Eimagine, an Indianapolis-based business and technology consulting company, developed the app, called Liv, with funds appropriated by the Indiana General Assembly. Through Liv, Indiana officials hope to educate new mothers about prenatal and postpartum care. The app comprises an interactive calendar, journal feature and 100-plus checklists and guides related to medical best practices.

The app also provides users with information about local resources, including physicians, hospitals, food banks and birthing centers.

Liv is part of the Indiana State Department of Health’s effort to reduce infant mortality. In 2015, the most recent year for which data are available, 613 infants in Indiana died before the age 1.
