Jessica Kim Cohen -

The Terre Haute-based Indiana Rural Health Association received a $1 million grant from HHS to support its services, Indiana Public Media reports.

The three-year grant will primarily be used to hire additional staff for the Upper Midwest Telehealth Resource Center, said Becky Sanders, director of the Upper Midwest Telehealth Resource Center and director of operations for the Indiana Rural Health Association.

The Upper Midwest Telehealth Resource Center provides best practices recommendations and remote care resources to providers in rural areas throughout Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio.

The Upper Midwest Telehealth Resource Center is one of 12 telehealth resource centers designated by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy, an office of HHS' Health Resources & Services Administration, according to Indiana Public Media.
