House passes Medicare Part B with kidney dialysis telehealth measure

Julie Spitzer -

The House passed the Medicare Part B Improvement Act of 2017 July 25, advancing the bill to the Senate.

The bill calls for a "common sense" transitional policy for home infusion services, streamlined Medicare rules for prosthetics and orthotics and increased access to dialysis at home via telehealth for end-stage renal disease patients, according to the bill.

Its passage was lauded by Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass., who said the bipartisan legislation was an example of how Democrats and Republicans can collaborate to "create thoughtful, realistic policies," reports Mass Live.
