Florida passes telehealth law welcoming out-of-state providers

Jackie Drees -

The Florida House of Representatives passed a bill that will allow out-of-state providers to extend their telehealth services to Florida residents, Proactive Investors reports.

The bill, which passed in the state Senate April 29, will allow licensed providers outside of Florida perform telehealth care to Florida residents as long as the providers register with the state. The legislation does not require providers who respond to emergency medical conditions to register with the state.

Pending Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' signature, the bill will go into effect July 1.
