Meet Medtronic's new vice president of clinical research and analytics

Medtronic appointed Laura Mauri, MD, to  vice president for global clinical research and analytics, according to Zenopa.

Here are four things to know.

1. Dr. Mauri currently serves as an interventional cardiologist and clinical researcher at the Boston-based Brigham and Women's Hospital, as well as a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, also in Boston.

2. At Medtronic, she will oversee  the company's global clinical research strategies, which includes developing analytical and data science solutions and guiding its value-based healthcare strategies.

3. "We are excited to welcome Dr. Mauri to Medtronic. She is an accomplished frontline clinician, widely recognised academic clinical researcher and medical thought leader," Medtronic CEO Omar Ishrak told Zenopa.

4. Dr. Mauri, who has more than 20 years of experience in the medical device sector, will take on the role September 1.
