Device maker Medtronic will close its facility in Portsmouth, N.H., which will affect about 150 jobs, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.

The decision to close the facility is part of the company's plan to restructure its transformative solutions business to strengthen its financial position, the company said.

In April, Medtronic will begin transferring staff to its enabling technologies facility in Louisville, Colo.

The affected employees can apply for open positions within the company and will receive severance packages.
