MD Anderson Cancer Center short of O-positive red blood cells

The MD Anderson Cancer Center is in urgent need of O-positive red blood cells, the center tweeted Jan. 4.

The center is asking anyone who is able to donate to visit one of its three blood donation centers located in Houston.

MD Anderson cancer patients require about 200 units of red blood cells and 600 units of platelets daily, according to the center’s website.
