CVS Health tapped Marc-David Munk, MD, to serve as the CMO of MinuteClinic, the drugstore chain's retail medical clinic division and as the Associate CMO of CVS Health.

In his new role, Dr. Munk will oversee patient care strategy development and implementation at MinuteClinic and will work to bring innovative ideas to the entire CVS Health enterprise.

Previously, Dr. Munk served as CMO at Boston-based Iora Health, which focuses on providing better primary care across the U.S. He also held a CMO position at Worcester, Mass.-based Reliant Medical Group and various leadership positions at Albuquerque-based University of New Mexico Health System and Pittsburgh-based UPMC.

"We're pleased that Marc-David Munk will be joining the health care leadership team at MinuteClinic and CVS Health," said Troyen Brennan, MD, CMO of CVS Health. "Marc-David has an impressive background in healthcare and has demonstrated that he is a proven leader in the delivery of high-quality care."

CVS Health isn't the only company hiring from Iora Health. Amazon recently addedMartin Levine, MD, a physician from Iora Health, to their healthcare team.
