An opioid 10 times stronger than fentanyl, a reformulated asthma inhaler & more: 5 latest FDA approvals

Here are five drugs or medical devices that have been approved by the FDA since Nov. 2:

1. Dsuvia is a tablet version of an opioid that dissolves under the tongue for quick pain relief. It is 10 times stronger than fentanyl.

2. Primatene Mist, which has been reformulated, is an over-the-counter aerosol inhaler for the temporary relief of mild asthma symptoms.

3. Udenyca, approved to decrease the incidence of infection by helping the body make white blood cells after receiving cancer medications, is a biosimilar of Neulasta.

4. The Fluobeam 800 Clinic Imaging Device was approved to help surgeons detect parathyroid tissue during surgical procedures to remove the thyroid or parathyroid gland. The device uses a light that causes the parathyroid tissue to emit a fluorescent glow.

5. The Parathyroid Detection PTeye System helps surgeons detect parathyroid tissue during surgery by using a probe that emits fluorescence light.
