AmerisourceBergen's nonprofit charitable organization, The AmerisourceBergen Foundation, committed more than $100,000 to support relief efforts in communities affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.

The foundation has given more than $55,000 in targeted donations to organizations leading relief efforts in Houston, the Southeast and the Caribbean. The nonprofit is also matching Red Cross donations from AmerisourceBergen employees or customers up to $100,000.

AmerisourceBergen also worked with hospitals during the storms to ensure they had access to necessary drugs and supplies. After Hurricane Harvey, AmerisourceBergen's transportation team identified alternative routes and delivery methods — including airlifting supplies or using vehicles capable of driving through high-standing waters — to transport supplies to hospitals in the Houston area.

The drug distributor also prepared distribution centers in Houston, Orlando and Puerto Rico to serve as shelter sites for employees and their families.
