The following drug companies made headlines in the past two weeks.

  1. Democratic lawmakers launch investigation into high MS drug prices
    House Democrats are investigating seven drug companies in relation to the high price of multiple sclerosis drugs in the U.S.

  2. Mylan finalizes $465 million settlement with DOJ over EpiPen rebates
    Mylan on Thursday finalized a $465 million settlement with the federal government over accusations the Canonsburg, Pa.-based drugmaker improperly classified EpiPens as a generic drug to overcharge Medicaid.

  1. CDC: Yellow fever vaccine out of stock
    The supply of Sanofi Pasteur's yellow fever vaccine — the only such immunization licensed in the U.S. — is completely depleted and will remain out of stock until mid-2018, according to the CDC.

    Amneal Pharmaceuticals on Aug. 14 issued a voluntary recall of its Lorazepam Oral Concentrate solution over issues with the droppers packaged with the medication.

    Livonia, Mich.-based Rugby Laboratories is recalling its Diocto liquid and Diocto syrup stool softener products over a risk of bacterial contamination.

    Columbus, Ohio-based West-Ward Pharmaceuticals — the U.S. subsidiary of London-based Hikma Pharmaceuticals — increased the price of a common diarrhea drug by 430 percent.
