Here are five drug and medical device companies that made headlines in the past week. 

1. Roche sues Pfizer to prevent a biosimilar from entering US market
Roche Holding AG sued Pfizer in a move to prevent a biosimilar version of its breast cancer drug Herceptin from entering the U.S. market.

2. Sun Pharma recalls diabetes drug due to fungal contamination
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries recalled two lots of the diabetes drug Riomet over contamination issues.

3. Gilead launches hepatitis drug in China at one-fifth the US price
Gilead Sciences, a biopharmaceutical company based in Foster City, Calif., launched its hepatitis C drug in China with a price tag significantly lower than in the U.S.

4. Amazon in 'exploratory talks' with Mylan, Novartis, other generic drugmakers
Amazon has reportedly held preliminary discussions with several generic drug manufacturers regarding the company's potential foray into the pharmacy business.

5. Sanofi halts C. diff vaccine production
Sanofi, a French pharmaceutical company, halted the development and production of an experimental Clostridium difficile vaccine Friday after preliminary results of a late-stage trial revealed a low probability for success.
