4 thoughts Americans have on drone deliveries

Three-fourths of Americans expect to see the implementation of drone deliveries within the next five years, according to a new study by United States Postal Service Office of Insepector General.

The study asked 1,207 adults in the U.S. about their attitudes toward the possibility of drone deliveries, reported MediaPost.

Here are four things to know.

  1. Almost half (44 percent) of the respondents said they liked the idea of drone delivery, while 34 percent said they disliked the concept and 23 percent were neutral.

  2. Most millennials (65 percent) showed a positive opinion on drone delivery, while only 46 percent of generation X and 24 percent of baby boomers exhibited favorable opinions of the technology.

  3. Respondents named Amazon as the most trusted brand for making drone deliveries, followed by UPS, FedEX, USPS and Google.

  4. More than a third of respondents (37 percent) said they do not think drone delivery would be safe. Their largest concern about the technology was a malfunctioning drone (49 percent).
