Walmart moves deeper into primary care market: 4 things to know

Walmart will give patients access to comprehensive and low-cost primary care at a clinic slated to open next month in Georgia, according to CNBC.

Four things to know:

1. The new clinic, called Walmart Health, is in Dallas, Ga., and the first appointments are available on Sept. 13. Patients can schedule appointments at Walmarthealth.com.

2. The clinic, which is next door to a Walmart store, will offer primary care and a variety of other services, including labs, X-rays, counseling, dental, and audiology, according to CNBC.

3. Depending on the success of the clinic in Georgia, the retailer may open more Walmart Health clinics in the future, sources told CNBC.

4. Sean Slovenski, who Walmart recruited from Humana, is heading up the clinic efforts, sources told CNBC. Mr. Slovenski formerly served as Humana's vice president of innovation.
