9 Hospitals, Health Systems That Recently Changed Names, Brands

Here is a list of nine hospitals and health systems that in the past month have changed or announced plans to change their name, brand or both, beginning with the most recent announcement.

Note: Number 4 includes two hospital name changes.

1. Genesis Health System Changes Name of Illini Campus
Davenport, Iowa-based Genesis Health System changed the name of Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus in Silvis, Ill., to Genesis Medical Center Silvis to reflect the facility's location.

2. Miami Children's Hospital Launches Retail Brand
Miami Children's Hospital announced the launch of KidzStuff, a retail brand for children's products.

3. Legacy Health Threatens to Sue Unaffiliated Health Center for Name Change to Legacy Health
Portland, Ore.-based Legacy Health threatened to sue Dirne Community Health Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, after it announced a name change to Legacy Health Sept. 9.

4. LSU Hospitals Change Names Under New Management
Two hospitals under Baton Rouge-based Louisiana State University Health Care Services Division changed their names as they came under private management by the Biomedical Research Foundation in Shreveport, La.
Shreveport-based LSU Medical Center is now University Health and E.A. Conway Medical Center in Monroe, La., is now University Health Conway.

5. Jefferson Regional Medical Center Changes Names to Jefferson Hospital
Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Jefferson Hills, Pa., part of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network, has changed its name to Jefferson Hospital.

6. Lake View Hospital Changes Logo to Show Link to St. Luke's
Lake View Hospital in Two Harbors, Minn., which is affiliated with Duluth, Minn.-based St. Luke's Hospital, announced it has changed its logo to match that of St. Luke's.

7. Kennewick General Hospital Changes Name to Trios Health
Kennewick (Wash.) General Hospital is changing its name to Trios Health to better reflect its commitment to the Tri-Cities — the Washington cities of Kennewick, Pasco and Richland — and its growing range of services.

8. Jordan Hospital's New Name Reflects Beth Israel Deaconess Ties
Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, Mass., will become Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth when its new Boston-based affiliate formally takes over.
