People magazine cited Memphis, Tenn.-based St. Jude Children's Research Hospital among the nation's top 10 Companies that Care for 2017.
The first annual list highlights 50 U.S. companies with 1,000 or more employees that have demonstrated financial success while also showing compassion, respect and concern for their employees, communities and the environment.
To identify eligible companies, People teamed up with the consulting firm Great Place to Work to curate a list of the top 50 companies based on roughly 370,000 employee survey responses. Researchers also took into account employees' personal stories and their opinions regarding their employers' financial donations and volunteerism.
