Coronavirus death rates by state

New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have the highest coronavirus-related death rates in the country, according to a new analysis by The New York Times.

The Times used its database of reports from state and local health agencies and hospitals and population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau to calculate the death rates.

Here are the number of deaths per 100,000 people in each state and the District of Columbia as of June 2:

Note: The list includes ties and results in a numerical listing of 32.
