America's Health Rankings: How all 50 states fared

UnitedHealth Group ranked Vermont as the healthiest state and Mississippi as the least healthy state in 2019, according to its annual population health rankings.

For its America's Health Rankings, UnitedHealth used the weighted sum of the number of standard deviations each core measure is from the national average. The insurer uses more than 30 metrics for its composite index.
