Andrea Park -

Fortune released its annual "Most Powerful Women in Business" list on Sept. 23, comprising 50 female executives who wield massive amounts of corporate power and societal influence.

The list was compiled based on four criteria: the importance of each executive's business within the global economy, the health of the business, each executive's career arc and her social and cultural influence.

Four women from the healthcare industry made the cut:

5. Gail Boudreaux: president and CEO, Anthem

17. Karen Lynch: president of Aetna business unit and executive vice president, CVS Health

35. Jennifer Taubert: executive vice president and worldwide chair of pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson

41. Ashley McEvoy: executive vice president and worldwide chair of medical devices, Johnson & Johnson
