Genetic counselor was ranked the No. 1 job this year for median salary, projected growth and work environment, according to CareerCast's 2018 Jobs Rated Report.

CareerCast, which offers an online job database, develops its Jobs Rated Report annually to provide snapshots of 220 careers based on income, growth outlook, work environment and stress.
