South Dakota is the best state for physicians, according to an analysis by WalletHub.

To identify the best and worst states for physicians, WalletHub analysts compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia on 16 metrics, such as average annual wage of physicians, average annual starting salary of physicians, hospitals per capita and insured population rate.

Here are the 10 best states for physicians based on the analysis.
