Stamford Hospital in Connecticut Records Positive Margin for 8th Straight Year

Stamford (Conn.) Hospital recently recorded a 6 percent operating margin in its most recent fiscal year, the eighth consecutive year it has recorded a positive margin, according to a hospital news release.

In fiscal year 2011 (Oct. 1, 2010 through Sept. 30, 2011), the 305-bed non-profit Stamford Hospital had total operating revenue of $466.7 million and roughly $438.7 million in expenditures.

The hospital attributed the strong financial growth to reinvestments into the organization, roughly $15.2 million in cash and new pledges to the hospital's non-profit foundation and steady metrics.
