Idaho Governor Petitions Public to Support State-Run Insurance Exchange

Idaho Gov. C. L. "Butch" Otter launched a petition on the governor's office website, urging residents to push legislators to agree to a state-run health insurance exchange rather than allowing the federal government to operate one for them.

The Republican governor fiercely opposes most of the healthcare law but supports states' rights. Some conservative groups claim a state-operated online marketplace gives ground to the Obama administration, and they are trying to rally opposition against the governor's efforts.
