Five Hospitals Receive Credit Downgrades in Last Month

Five hospitals and health systems have received credit downgrades in the last 30 days, according to a report by HFA Partners.

The hospitals receiving the credit downgrades include:

•    Arnot Ogden Medical Center (Elmira, N.Y.) — From A3 to Baa1 (Moody's)
•    East Liverpool (Ohio) City Hospital — From Baa2 to Ab1 (Moody's)
•    Eisenhower Medical Center (Rancho Mirage, Calif.) — From BBB+ to BBB (Fitch)
•    Saints Medical Center (Lowell, Mass.) — From Caa1 to B1 (Moody's) and from B to B- (Fitch)
•    St. Joseph Health Services (North Providence, R.I.) — From B to CCC (Fitch)

In the same period, two hospitals — Hazelton (Pa.) General Hospital and United Regional Health Care System in Wichita Falls, Kan. — received credit upgrades.
