20 Moody's Hospitals With the Highest Combined Medicare and Medicaid Ratios

In a recent report from Moody's Investors Service, analysts said non-profit hospitals are facing extreme pressures on their Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, and the loss of the individual mandate from the healthcare reform law would negatively impact non-profit hospital revenue even further.

There are many hospitals throughout the country in which Medicare and Medicaid comprise a large portion of their gross revenues. This high dependency on government payors puts these hospitals at even greater risk of experiencing revenue pressures in the upcoming years, with or without the individual mandate in play.

After scouring through their hospital reports, Moody's analysts listed the top 20 rated hospitals and health systems within their database that have the highest combined Medicare and Medicaid business as a percentage of their gross revenue. Here are the 20 hospitals, as excerpted from the Moody's report.
