Why you might see #FightFlu on social media this month

Brian Zimmerman -

The CDC and the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases will launch their annual flu awareness campaign Sept. 28 to prepare for the upcoming flue season.

Here are three ways to support the online campaign.\

1. Join the campaign's Thunderclap: Click here to sign up and authorize Thunderclap to post a one-time message promoting flu vaccine on Sept. 28 to your Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr account.

2. Use the #FightFlu hashtag: Include the hashtag #FightFlu when posting on social media regarding your plans to prevent flu infections this season. Original pictures or videos with #FightFlu may be shared from @CDCFlu's Twitter profile.

3. Get vaccinated: Get your flu shot and encourage your social media followers to do the same.
