VigiLanz alerted hospitals in real-time of CRE outbreak

The digital healthcare technology company announced that it alerted its hospitals immediately upon news of the CRE outbreak.

According to a press release, VigiLanz was able to send out an alert to hospital clinicans on February 19th at little after 12:45 PM CST.

CRE or Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae, is an antibiotic-resistant bacteria that was found on endoscopic devices inside of a Los Angeles hospital.

Stacy Pur, Vice President for Clinical Decision Support at VigiLanz noted, “Our nimble software affords us the opportunity to alert customers in real-time when there is an outbreak, and immediate action is required to prevent infection spreading.”

VigiLanz was found in 2001 by two doctors, David Goldsteen and David Klass.
