Top 6 California hospitals patients would definitely recommend

The following hospitals in California have the highest proportion of patients who reported on their HCAHPS survey that yes, they would definitely recommend the hospital.

The figures are from CMS' Hospital Compare website and were collected between July 2014 and June 2015.

For reference, the average rate of hospital recommendation in California is 69 percent, which is lower than the national average of 71 percent.

Note: Hospitals with fewer than 100 completed patient surveys were excluded from the data sorting process.

Patients' Hospital of Redding (Calif.) — 97 percent

Sutter Surgical Hospital-North Valley (Yuba City) — 94 percent

Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center of Santa Cruz (Calif.) — 92 percent

Mammoth Hospital (Mammoth Lakes) — 90 percent

Hoag Orthopedic Institute (Irvine) — 90 percent

Fresco (Calif.) Surgical Hospital — 90 percent
