Seven Appointments Made to Massachusetts Healthcare Quality Committee

Seven individuals have been named to the Massachusetts Statewide Quality Advisory Committee, which is charged with making recommendations for how healthcare providers, facilities and provider groups report publicly on healthcare quality, according to a news release from the Patrick-Murray administration.

The committee will make its selection from existing state and national quality measures and provide recommendations on which ones Massachusetts should adopt as standard measures for healthcare quality. The appointed members are:

•    Dolores Mitchell, executive director of the Group Insurance Commission (ex-officio)
•    Julian Harris, MD, director of the Office of Medicaid (ex-officio)
•    Dianne Anderson, president and CEO of Lawrence General Hospital
•    Jon Hurst, president of the Retailers Association of Massachusetts
•    Amy Whitcomb Slemmer, executive director of Health Care for All Massachusetts
•    James Feldman, MD, of Boston University Medical Center and Massachusetts Medical Society
•    Richard Lopez, MD, CMO of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates/Atrius Health
