Physicians already disapprove of Obama's new 'Ebola czar'

Former White House advisor Ron Klain reports Wednesday for his first active day as Ebola response coordinator and physicians already disapprove, according to a recent poll conducted by Sermo, a healthcare social network just for physicians.

A Harvard-educated lawyer, Mr. Klain served as chief of staff to Vice Presidents Al Gore and Joe Biden. He was appointed to be the Ebola czar last Friday by President Obama. In this role, Mr. Klain is expected to coordinate and execute behind-the-scenes decisions regarding Ebola, CBS News reported.

Physicians polled on Sermo expressed concerns about Mr. Klain. In a poll of 715 physicians, 79 percent did not approve of Mr. Klain as the Ebola czar. Those who rejected Mr. Klain criticized the political aide's lack of medical training, according to Sermo.

Republicans also denounced President Obama's choice due to Mr. Klain's lack of medical expertise, according to CNN.
