Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine is entering into a strategic partnership with Babyscripts, developer of a virtual care platform for managing prenatal and postpartum care.
Together, the organizations will develop a solution that allows clinicians to monitor hypertensive patients remotely, identifying those who need additional attention and an increase in the number of blood pressure readings in the postpartum stage.
Babyscripts will add care protocols and program elements tested through Penn Medicine's Heart Safe Motherhood program and to its platform for postpartum monitoring of women with pregnancy-related hypertension.
The HSM program is Penn Medicine's approach to care for women with pregnancy-related hypertension. It utilizes remote text-based blood pressure monitoring to improve quality, safety and experience as well as reduce cost during the transition from hospital admission after delivery to home.
