Parkland is under an agreement with CMS to meet certain safety mandates by April or lose federal funding, according to the report. The agreement is a result of safety and quality deficiencies identified at the hospital more than a year ago, according to the report.
Parkland Memorial Hospital cited some improvements, such as emergency department changes and the implementation of a high-risk patient screening tool, in a recent news release. However, monitors from the Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group identified multiple shortcomings in two reports, including inadequate training of employees and communication problems, according to the Dallas Morning News report.
