A staff member came into the patient’s room Aug. 10 because the patient was punching the walls, according to court documents. The patient punched the staff member in the head, leaving the staff member with contusions on his temples and the left side of his head. The staff member forced the patient to the floor and additional staff members held the patient down until police arrived.
A second staff member reported the patient kicked her when she tried to put his leg into a restraint.
The patient has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
