A female patient at Beaumont Hospital Emergency Center in Troy, Mich., was burned on 30 percent of her body after a fire that investigators have called suspicious, erupted in one of the rooms, according to The Detroit News

The patient, who received first- and second-degree burns, was transferred to another facility for treatment. She was the only person injured in the fire, according to the report. Other patients in the emergency center were moved by staff to other areas of the hospital.

The fire was reported to the Troy Fire Department about 10 p.m. Sunday. Hospital security reported smoke and sprinkler activation. There was smoke, but no fire, by the time the fire department arrived, the newspaper reported.

Fire investigators have labeled the incident suspicious, the newspaper reported.
